 Dear Mr. Robl:

 I am writing to pledge my financial support of the ARO Housing Rehab Project in Lawrence, KS.  Accessible Residential Options (ARO) provides accessible, affordable housing to people with physical disabilities in Lawrence, KS.  The ARO apartments were built under the concept of universal design so that anyone who uses a wheelchair can  fully enjoy and use his or her dwelling without structural barriers within the housing.  The ARO Housing Rehab Project will complete much needed rehab on the interior and exterior of the apartments.  The long life of these apartments is crucial to our community.  No other readily available apartments offer the level of access that ARO does.  As the apartments were constructed in 1987 they have reached the point where major rehab is needed to ensure their quality for the next 20-30 years.  Also ARO will then be available for display purposes to other housing providers as a model of how to construct universally designed housing for maximum access to people of all ages and abilities.

 I understand that ARO is applying for Community Service Tax Credits from the Kansas Department of Commerce and Housing.  In the event that tax credits are awarded my tax credit liability will be reduced in exchange for contribution to the ARO Housing Rehab Project, worth 50% of the dollar amount contributed at a rate of 50 cents state tax credit for every dollar donated.

 I pledge to donate money to the ARO Housing Rehab Project in the amount of $__________________ in exchange for Community Service Tax Credits for the Kansas Department of Commerce..

 I realize that this donation is not due at this time and that in the event that Community Service Tax Credits are not awarded for this project I have the ability to withdraw my pledge for a donation.  Thank you very much.  I look forward to the opportunity to support this project.
